Position Overview

We are seeking a highly agile and strategic Supply Chain Director to lead the development and execution of our end-to-end supply chain for regulated, sterile, and compliant pharmaceutical and healthcare science products. This is a ground-up build role — you will be responsible for creating processes, systems, and networks from scratch to support both B2B and B2C channels.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of regulated product handling, experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare science supply chains, and the ability to manage both direct manufacturing and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) without reliance on 3rd-party warehouse space.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

  • Design, implement, and optimize a complete supply chain strategy from raw materials to customer delivery.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, GDP, and other applicable regulations.
  • Oversee inventory planning, procurement, production scheduling, and distribution.

Operations Development

  • Build processes from the ground up for regulated sterile product storage, packaging, and transport.
  • Establish scalable SOPs for order fulfillment across B2B clients, distributors, and direct-to-consumer shipments.
  • Implement technology solutions for inventory visibility, demand forecasting, and real-time tracking.

Collaboration & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with CMOs and direct manufacturing partners to ensure quality, lead time, and cost targets are met.
  • Negotiate contracts and supply agreements with suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Align with cross-functional teams (Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and Finance) to ensure seamless operational execution.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain strict adherence to sterility requirements and regulatory standards in every step of the supply chain.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, product recalls, and compliance audits.
  • Conduct regular supplier and manufacturing partner assessments to mitigate risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Life Sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or healthcare sciences.
  • Proven track record of building supply chain processes from scratch in regulated, sterile product environments.
  • Experience with B2B and B2C distribution models.
  • Strong background in CMO management and direct manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with reliance on 3rd-party fulfillment centers.
  • Expertise in FDA, GMP, GDP, and ISO 13485 compliance.
  • Exceptional negotiation, vendor management, and leadership skills.
  • Agile, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Key Competencies

  • Agility & Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building solutions quickly.
  • Process Creation: Skilled at establishing procedures, systems, and KPIs from the ground up.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of compliance requirements for sterile and regulated products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Able to align operations with commercial, regulatory, and quality teams.
  • Results-Driven: Focused on operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
